Staff induction design: practical planning
List what new staff need to understand before they start work and what they need to learn with supervision. Separate essential induction knowledge from role-specific or person-specific practice.
Give policies a practical context
Explain what the procedure means in everyday work. Use a scenario, ask what the worker should do next and show where to find the approved policy. Your business should review each lesson against its current documents.
Keep human time where it matters
Online learning can reduce repeated explanations, but new starters still need conversation, practical support and an opportunity to ask questions. Use course completion as one part of the induction record.
Plan for the next update
Assign an owner to review course content when a policy changes. Track which version staff completed and decide whether the change requires a refresher.
General operational guidance. Adapt to your approved policies, staff roles and training requirements.
