The current consultation

Gather information before writing
Start with your own service experience. Separate confirmed costs from estimates and distinguish a recurring issue from an isolated example. A clear description of the problem, who it affects and how it changes service delivery is more useful than a general statement that costs are increasing.
Include the workforce perspective
Ask managers and administrators where training, supervision and coordination time is spent. Use aggregated information that protects staff and participant privacy. Document how you calculated an estimate so someone reading the response can follow the reasoning.
Avoid treating consultation as a final decision
A consultation invites views; it does not establish the next year’s prices. Keep the current pricing reference in use while your nominated person follows official announcements. Staff should understand the difference between a proposal, consultation feedback and a change that has actually taken effect.
Use the process to improve your own systems
Even if you do not make a submission, the exercise can reveal duplicated administration or unclear responsibilities. Select one issue for improvement, such as a consistent induction pathway or simpler training records. Email learn@careenable.online to discuss practical staff learning and membership.
NDIS pricing consultation: a practical team exercise
Prepare one evidence-based response
Choose a cost or service-delivery issue your team can explain using aggregated information. Separate the observation from an estimate and write down the method used. Ask a colleague unfamiliar with the issue to read the explanation before it is submitted.
Review these questions
- Is the example representative?
- Are estimates labelled?
- Has personal information been removed?
Agree one improvement, nominate the person responsible and choose when to review it. Keep the exercise separate from decisions requiring specialist advice or role-specific authorisation.
