Start with privacy and purpose
The NDIS Code of Conduct includes respect for the privacy of people with disability. Before adopting an AI or digital workflow, define the task, the information it needs and the approved tool. Convenience alone does not establish that a system is suitable.

Use fictional training examples
A course designer can draft a scenario without entering identifiable participant notes, health information or real incident records. Use invented details and check that the example does not indirectly identify someone through a distinctive combination of circumstances.
Review AI output as a draft
Generated content may sound confident while being incomplete or unsuitable. A person should review accuracy, tone and alignment with the approved policy. Do not let a tool invent reporting instructions, clinical advice or legal requirements for a staff lesson.
Make access and responsibility clear
Agree who can use the tool, what information is permitted and who approves the result. Staff need a practical way to ask questions and raise concerns. Keep these expectations in the workflow rather than relying on a general statement that everyone should be careful.
Ask for learning support
Care Enable Training can help turn approved policies into clear lessons, scenarios and knowledge checks. Keep people responsible for reviewing accuracy and protecting privacy. Email learn@careenable.online to discuss custom training or request membership.
Digital privacy and AI: a practical team exercise
Create a fictional design brief
Draft a lesson-design request using invented names and no identifiable care information. Ask a reviewer to check whether the brief gives enough context without including sensitive data. Review any AI output against the approved policy before use.
Review these questions
- Is the tool approved?
- Is the data necessary?
- Who checks accuracy and publishes the result?
Agree one improvement, nominate the person responsible and choose when to review it. Keep the exercise separate from decisions requiring specialist advice or role-specific authorisation.
